Morning light

Stillness – It was so still the morning I visited this lake & watched the sunrise.
It’s said to be the most photographed lake in NZ and I see why. I was somewhat surprised to find I had the place all to myself, but of course I didn’t mind, I preferred it.
As I sat there taking in the stillness & beauty around me, the birds kept me company with their cheerful chirping & songs. It was emotionally such a powerful moment.

This lake dates back some 14,000 years. It was formed by the moraine left by the retreat of Fox Glacier.
