This location is host to on of New Zealand’s oldest lighthouses, the Tokata lighthouse. The rocks below were named by Captain Cook, because he thought they looked like pieces of gold. It’s an area full of amazing wildlife, some very rare.
As the location is on the east coast I naturally chose to visit at sunrise and Wow what an experience, a true highlight for me. Definitely an experience for mind & soul.
