This little lizard was captured on a bushwalk in early spring. It’s a Jacky Dragon and native to southeastern Australia. Their average size is around 30cm, with 2/3 being the tail, but they can get as big as 40cm.
They’re very good at camouflaging and changing their colour to blend in with their surroundings, so it can be quite hard to spot them in the wild.
